The Everyday Ring

Finally, making rings is simple

The Everyday Ring Course details the process of bezel-making, stone setting, and creating a split and open ring shank (plus two bonus shanks), this course will guide you step-by-step through each technique to create professional-level heirloom quality rings, and leave you feeling confident and ready to add them to your collections.

What you will accomplish in 2 hours:

Learn to build a bezel
The entire process, explained in thorough detail to leave you feeling confident about how to construct a bezel for any uniform cabochon.

Create a split/open ring shank
And know how to size it properly, enabling you to stop wasting metal (plus learn to work with continuous shanks and single open shanks ~1 hour additional content)

Make an entire ring from start to finish
You can follow me step-by-step and have an entire ring completed by the end of our time together. It only takes a couple of hours (plus tumbling)

Set an angled stone
The process of setting angles is a little bit different than just a regular stone. Not only do we cover basic setting, but you’ll add this technique to your arsenal as well

So. Much. Metal. Wasted.

Let me ask you this: have you ever soldered something and afterward it seems to SHRINK?

You measured properly, everything fit, it all lined up- and then POOF, now it’s too small. This used to happen to me *all the time*- I wish I was exaggerating, but it’s true.

I would painstakingly measure everything, check and recheck - take it under the flame, only to be left with a ring or bezel that was too small. I was completely confused and honestly, really angry.

I go at things until I fully understand them- regardless of failure- and this was one of those things. I refused to quit- I wanted to add split and open ring shanks to my collections and nothing was going to stop me.

After all of the experimenting and the pieces that didn't work, I FINALLY figured it out. I learned the secret to creating and sizing open ring shanks and bezels so that they’re the perfect size, AND they don’t “shrink” when I solder them. Now I’m going to teach YOU how to do it too.

What Saltwater & Silver Alumni Are Saying:

I have been learning on my own since November and it has been a whirlwind. I have been searching and following accounts of awesome Silversmiths (like you!) and I'm super glad that I chose to invest in your course and all the PDF's you offer. I practiced on copper and finally worked up the courage to handle this boulder Opal and make it into a ring with the exact size I wanted. My ah-ha moment for me was the sizing part! I've struggled soooo much with this and now I can confidently say I'm not scared to make a custom ring with your tips. Genius! And the miter jig…total time saver! Thank you for caring and sharing. Your course was very easy to follow and I loved it.
